In light of the spreading Coronavirus pandemic, Matrix Spa & Massage wants to do our part to contain its spread and protect the safety and health of our clients and hard-working staff.

To protect everyone from any unnecessary risk of exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19), we will not be performing massages until at least July 6th. You may still purchase gift certificates online.

We anticipate that we will continue this policy as long as necessary.  If we all take reasonable precautions, together, we will get through this.

Massage Therapy FAQ’s

The law always requires that you be appropriately covered with sheets or towels to keep you comfortable and warm. If you start feeling uncomfortable or exposed, speak up. Your therapist will respect your wishes and work with you to make the massage session a comfortable one.
No, only undress as much as you are comfortable with. Some people prefer undressing completely, while others prefer to keep undergarments on. You'll have privacy in your massage room to undress before the session and redress afterwards.
It depends on your massage therapy goals. Some people get a monthly massage to manage stress or to prevent health problems. Others opt for weekly sessions if they need relief from injuries and chronic tension.
Licensing and certification mean that the massage therapist can legally practice massage in your city or state. To get this license, they must have performed several hours of training at an accredited school, past the extensive licensure exam, and have paid any relevant licensing fees.
Every insurance plan works a little differently, so your best bet is to contact your insurer directly. Some plans do cover alternative therapies including chiropractic and massage. You will likely need a doctor's prescription first. If you don't have health insurance, or if it doesn't cover massage therapy, you can find massage therapy coupons and discounts on our site.
How much depends on how pleased you are with the service and how much the massage costs (the full price, not any discounted fees). One easy trick is to think about how you would tip a waiter after a similarly priced restaurant meal. This is often 15-20% or more if you received exceptional service.
Let your massage therapist know before the session if there are areas on your body that you don't want to be touched. They will have the training and experience to give you a therapeutic massage while working around ticklish or sensitive places like your feet or abdomen.

Your therapist needs the feedback to work on you properly and without aggravating an injury. On the other hand, if you are looking for relaxation, it's often best not to talk unless necessary. This lets your mind as well as your body release tension. With the right mindful breathing technique, you may even achieve a stress relieving meditative state during the massage.

Prenatal massage can reduce and relieve common pregnancy issues like lower and upper back pain, sciatic nerve irritation, swelling, tension headaches, heartburn and constipation, and more. I happened to be in Slc area for the day and decided I needed a massage. I booked the 90 minute deep tissue massage and they got me booked in with less than a 45 minute notice to my surprise! There was nice calming music and the receptionist was very friendly. Jacque my therapist was very knowledgeable and professional in her work. She asked about the problematic areas and made sure to put some extra effort into them. That was the best massage I have ever received, you just can’t put a price on the pain relief I experienced I will most certainly be back!

My wife and I have been going to Matrix for several years now. Always a couples massage with reflexology. Great experience! Calm environment with a relaxing experience. My therapist this last even gave me some stretches I could do at home for my back.

One day I had a terrible massage on my anniversary and when I emailed the spa they took care of me with a make up massage. The second massage was with Troy and it was absolutely amazing. He listened to everything I asked of him and was one of the best massages I have had in a long time. Troy and Julieta (the owner) are the reasons I will be back!

Came here with a group of dancer from Fiddler on the Roof Broadway Tour, and had the best time. This place offers a replenishing environment of wellness and self care, and was just what we needed. I have been going to Matrix for many years. Before that I had been going from spa to spa looking for a place that was consistent, and finally found Matrix. I love Matrix Spa. I love the ambiance of the spa and it has a very "hole-in-the-wall" feel which makes me feel more at home and less like a doctor's office. I have always felt comfortable there. The massages have been fantastic, I usually go to Jacqueline. Would highly recommend this spa. Also, I feel that their prices are very competitive and reasonable.

Was very happy to find a place that I could book a massage same day. It was simple to book online and the staff was very friendly, even accommodating a request to switch from a 30 to a 60 min massage. My therapist, Eztli was friendly and competent. I called one morning to ask about a walk in. The receptionist was kind enough to call in one of the massage therapists who was there within 30 minutes to accommodate me. She did a fantastic job on my tense muscles. She knew when to upgrade me to the expert package because of all the knots I had all over my body. I have since had better pain relief since my massage there and I am looking forward to my next appointment. Definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants a skilled therapist who knows what she is doing.

By far the BEST massage experiences I've had! The staff is wonderful, the overall feel of the spa is calming and peaceful! I'm kind of a clean freak and I absolutely love how comfortable I feel in regards to their cleanliness. I appreciate their attention to everything from music to decor to offering chlotaphyll water. This place deserves more than 5 stars!!!

I've been having massages from the owner over 19 yrs. She has an awesome story coming from Mexico working to build her own business. She's an extremely hard worker to have the business she has. She gives her all to me after all these yrs. She personally trains her staff once they come to work for her. No matter what few who put her business down for any reason, it's probably a lie! She use to work 7 days a week! I had a horrible accident 59 yrs ago & broke all my bones in my body except arms & legs. She's been the one who has gotten me thought the worse of times when I was in so much pain. I've moved 10 yrs ago & haven't found anyone like her. I come back through the summer & if she's available, she works on me! The spa is really nice before a massage to loosen my muscles! I wish her success for the rest of her life! Luv u, Julietta

This was such a wonderful experience. We did the couples massage Emerald Package. My boyfriend said the experience has helped his back and eased a lot of pain from our drive. If I ever find myself in Salt Lake City again I definitely will be coming here.

I should preface my review by saying that I have been having true therapeutic massage for over 15 years of my life and have had a variety of very skilled therapists in the past. I visited Matrix about 1 month ago for a massage to use a gift card I had been given. . At that time I had a good massage, I felt relaxed afterward and the massage therapist was good. I returned today and decided to try a different massage therapist. I am SO glad I did. Amie provided me with true therapeutic body work. She is extremely knowledgeable, caring and does true therapeutic massage work. If you really know and understand massage, you will appreciate her approach. If you are looking for a massage you can get on a cruise line, this is not it. I will definitely return in the future to see Amie again! My back feels fantastic today and I can really tell the difference in my posture, my neck and my overall energy level. She gave the best massage that I have had in years! Thank you Amie for the awesome massage work.

My wife and I did a couples massage. Enjoyed the experience. Well-trained therapists and loved the decor and service. Would have been nice if they offered an upgrade for services when we were there, probably would have done it. Spirulina water was a nice touch.
